Respecting Existing Character
The brief called for a new workplace that balanced Traxtion’s operational requirements with the historical significance of the existing building. The company was drawn to the site’s heritage and elevated views, both of which informed the direction of the project. The fit-out needed to support a contemporary working environment while maintaining a strong connection to the building’s existing fabric and identity.
Material And Spatial Expression
The interior combines industrial elements with a palette of timber, marble and copper. Exposed ceilings acknowledge the building’s history, while black aluminium-framed glass partitions maintain visual connectivity throughout the workplace. A curved slatted timber feature wall at the entrance references the form of a locomotive and creates a memorable first impression.
Delivering The New Workplace
Trend Group delivered the fit-out in collaboration with HK Design, helping transform the existing structure into Traxtion’s new headquarters. The completed workspace balances heritage considerations with contemporary workplace requirements, preserving key characteristics of the building while providing a practical working environment for the business.
