Trend Group partnered with Sturdee Energy, an independent power producer, to design their new office in Hyde Park, Johannesburg. The project aimed to reflect Sturdee Energy’s mission of delivering economic and social returns through sustainable energy projects.
Sturdee Energy’s move to a larger office space required a design that fostered transparency, collaboration, and a connection to natural energy sources. The goal was to create a functional space that embodied their commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Our design, inspired by the elements of earth, air, fire, and water, featured a palette of blue, grey, white, and green, with timber accents. Glass shopfront panels and subtle vinyl frosting maintained an open feel while ensuring privacy. Unique wallpapers showcasing the company’s wind farms and solar power sites reinforced their identity and values.
Regular workshops and site visits ensured alignment with Sturdee Energy’s vision. Our team collaborated closely with the client, refining design concepts and selecting materials to resonate with the sustainable theme.
The new office features meeting rooms, an informal client lounge, three focus rooms, an open-plan work area, and an enclosed office for the founders. Glass panels and patterned carpet tiles create an open, inviting environment, with strategically placed logos enhancing brand visibility. The Sturdee Energy Office Design achieved a light, open ambience with elegant, understated finishes that tell the client’s story.
