Refurbishing High-Traffic Clubs
The programme included refurbishments at Virgin Active clubs such as Randburg, Alice Lane, Waterfall and Waterstone. While the scope varied across each gym, this included upgrades to spaces such as Reformer Pilates, GRID functional training, spinning and boxing studios, saunas, cold plunge pools, changing rooms, showers and splash pools – as well as reception areas, lounges, consulting rooms, canteens and shared member spaces. For the Cape Town gyms, the work focused on steam-room upgrades.
Detailed Fitness Interiors
Across the Johannesburg clubs, the fit-out incorporated new partitions and ceilings, specialist flooring, timber wall panelling, glazed studio partitions, acoustic treatments and feature wall finishes. Integrated planters, branded elements, recessed and coloured lighting, linear lighting and detailed ceiling forms added further layers of coordination across the interiors.
Consistent Build Delivery
Working across multiple specialist environments, Trend managed technically coordinated construction and detailed finishes within high-traffic, operational gym settings. The programme demonstrates Trend Group’s ability to execute commercial fit-out beyond traditional office environments, translating detailed design requirements into durable, consistent spaces across a multi-site refurbishment programme.
