A Sophisticated Workplace
The design concept drew inspiration from the client’s identity as a globally focused brand with strong local influence in Egypt. The palette shifted towards deeper, more refined finishes, introducing darker timber tones, layered textures, and subtle green accents complemented by understated metallic detailing. Spatial planning prioritised versatility, integrating a balanced mix of formal meeting spaces and informal collaboration areas to support different ways of working. From a reimagined reception to an extended footprint for a multi-functional area to accommodate team presentations and socials.
High-Performance Workplace
Bespoke elements were central to the design narrative – custom joinery features across boardroom and canteen, while a signature curved seating installation, inspired by the client’s brand language, provides an informal setting for collaboration. Material selection played a critical role, layering durable flooring solutions with softer finishes to create contrast, warmth, and improved acoustic comfort.
Operating within a fully operational office required a carefully phased construction programme to maintain business continuity. The project was executed in stages, with strategic partitioning and after-hours activity minimising disruption to daily operations.
Balancing Brand with Function
Despite the complexity of coordinating imported materials and navigating lead times, the project was completed on schedule through proactive planning and strong supplier collaboration. The completed SOMABAY headquarters offers a flexible, high-performing environment that supports everyday operations and larger team engagements. It reflects Trend Group’s ability to deliver refined commercial fit-outs that balance brand identity with operational needs in the Middle East region.
