Trend Group has been tasked with the implementation and construction of Facebook’s headquarters in Johannesburg, marking a crucial expansion as the social media giant aims to strengthen its connection with over a billion active users across Africa.

The project demanded strict compliance with Facebook’s international fit-out standards, emphasizing acoustic quality, furniture selection, and security measures. Trend Group meticulously integrated all elements to align with Facebook’s operational requirements while preserving the integrity of global standards.

Designed by Boogertman Architects, the office features an industrial yet modern aesthetic that harmoniously blends contemporary design with vibrant African cultural influences. The incorporation of local prints and textures enhances the visual appeal and emphasizes cultural identity. Notably, an eye-catching feature of the design includes a large map of Africa spanning two stories, adorned with a colourful cord illustrating connection points throughout the continent and the world, symbolizing Facebook’s commitment to connectivity.
