CREATIVE APPROACH TO CLIENT’S NEEDS
Nokia wanted a flexible and adaptive workspace that reflected its global brand while embracing the unique African context of where it was located. Trend Group was responsible for the design and build of this 1200 sqm office space. The office needed to reflect their brand promise of “connecting the world” and feature a layout to encourage interaction and teamwork. The idea was to create an environment to support Nokia’s innovative culture and their role in shaping the future of technology.
UNIQUE DESIGN FOR UNIQUE SPACES
For the design approach, Scandinavian minimalism was merged with modern African aesthetics by reimagining triangular motifs, a visual language of Nokia’s. Playing a pivotal role in the workspace, this design element both reinforces Nokia’s identity and adds a dynamic, modern edge. These motifs feature in reception area, with a floating effect that seamlessly transitions the triangles from the wall to the ceiling, symbolizing a digital narrative.
For warmth and texture, Trend Group introduced handmade woven pendant lights and biophilic elements. Acoustic panels and baffles were utilised strategically to create a productive work environment. Green walls and strategically placed plants foster a connection with nature for employee well-being.

Their approach showcases how form, function, and brand identity can blend into a cohesive and inspiring environment. Nokia’s modern offices show how thoughtful design can reflect a company’s ethos and be a space employees love.
