Central to this vision is the symbolic staircase, which features a tree at its core; a powerful representation of Johannesburg’s strength, its gold mining heritage, and the seamless blending of African and global excellence.

Working alongside HK Studio, known for creating immersive environments, this partnership resulted in a space that feels both innovative and deeply connected to Johannesburg’s vibrant character. The design emphasises flexibility and adaptability to support evolving work styles, offering a balance between collaborative areas and spaces for focus. This ensures the workplace remains relevant and functional as ways of working continue to change.
The space fosters a strong sense of belonging and purpose and is inspired by Johannesburg’s history and the allure of gold. It celebrates the city’s cosmopolitan energy, inclusivity, and creative spirit. Local artists, furniture makers, and galleries contributed bespoke pieces and artworks, strengthening the office’s authentic connection to Johannesburg’s identity.

The office is designed as a carefully curated journey, where moments of surprise and touches of the exotic are revealed through thoughtful details. At its heart is the canteen, a showcase of local design talent featuring handcrafted furniture and bespoke wall tiles. The public areas are warm and characterful, blending timeless elegance with contemporary style and playful accents.
With an impressive 80% of the furnishings and fittings sourced locally, this bespoke environment celebrates ambition, authenticity, inclusivity, and African excellence.
