Trend Group, in collaboration with HK Studio, designed the new Johannesburg headquarters for a global management consulting firm in Rosebank’s Oxford Parks. This innovative office space transcends traditional functionality, weaving a captivating narrative inspired by the vibrant spirit of Johannesburg.The partnership created a one-of-a-kind office environment that is both innovative and deeply reflective of Johannesburg’s dynamic character. Flexibility is paramount, with the design prioritizing adaptability to seamlessly accommodate evolving work models, ensuring the space remains relevant and functional for both in-office and remote work.

The design encourages a sense of belonging, making the office a desirable place to be. It pays homage to Johannesburg’s rich history, drawing inspiration from the city’s ambition, its gold mining legacy, and its cosmopolitan, inclusive character. While maintaining a global brand identity, a strong emphasis was placed on incorporating local elements, with an impressive 80% of furnishings and fittings sourced from South Africa. Symbolic design elements, such as a central staircase with a tree at its core, represent Johannesburg’s strength and the harmonious fusion of African and global excellence. Local artists, furniture makers, and galleries further enrich the space with custom-made pieces and artworks, solidifying the office’s deep connection to Johannesburg’s unique identity.
