Designing a Distinctive Office Environment
Trend Group was commissioned to design and build the European Investment Bank’s new head office in Pretoria, South Africa. The project involved overseeing the full design and construction process to create a workspace that reflects the bank’s commitment to growth, sustainability, and industry leadership. The office was designed to meet international standards while maintaining a connection to local identity, combining functional work areas with elements that celebrate cultural significance.
Natural Materials Meet Inspiring Design
The design concept focused on translating the bank’s vision into a practical and inspiring environment. The reception area features green quartz stone, establishing an earthy and welcoming palette. In the breakaway space, a ceiling installation with integrated plants highlights the sustainability theme. An exposed ceiling detail presented a challenge in terms of soffit height, which Trend Group turned into a design feature by introducing an industrial aesthetic softened with muted ivory tones to harmonize with the overall space.
