Hospitality Design
Fugazzi was conceived through the collaboration of visionary creatives who aimed to deliver a distinctive restaurant experience inspired by the enduring character of classic New York Italian eateries. As the newest concept from Colada Club, the team behind Proud Mary and MamaSamba, the restaurant was designed to celebrate community, family, traditional cuisine, and a vibrant social atmosphere. The brief called for a space that could accommodate up to 100 guests while maintaining a strong connection between diners and the theatre of the kitchen, allowing the energy and craft of the chefs to remain central to the experience.
Bespoke Interiors
The interior balances vintage character with contemporary sophistication through burgundy leather seating, dark timber panelling, and bespoke mid century modern furnishings. Playful references to popular culture from the seventies and eighties are layered throughout the space, encouraging conversation and connection. A confident palette of black, cream, burgundy, ice cream pink, and mint green defines the restaurant’s personality, while sixty four curated artworks transform the dining area into an engaging gallery environment. A polished terrazzo floor with the restaurant name set into the entrance, a statement bar finished in black, cream, and brass with custom bar seating, and a vibrant red pizza oven establish strong focal points. Soft adjustable lighting enhances the ambience and allows the mood to shift throughout the day.
An Impressive Result
The completed restaurant delivers an expressive and immersive dining environment that feels both theatrical and welcoming. Carefully positioned booths and tables maintain views into the kitchen, reinforcing the sense of energy and interaction that shaped the original vision. The result is an avant garde yet nostalgic setting that demonstrates how thoughtful design and close creative collaboration can transform an everyday meal into a memorable communal experience.
