Ubank, a well-established financial services provider in South Africa and across Africa appointed Trend to implement the hybrid working strategy into their office culture.
One of the Covid-19 induced initiatives was the space reduction and reconﬁguration of the Ubank’s office space at their Head Office in Midrand. The intention was to reduce the occupancy by implementing hot-desking with tech-enabled ﬂexible workspaces and meeting rooms.
Trend Group was tasked with running the design, project management, construction, and procurement of the project and to consolidate the company into two ﬂoors and create a new way of working within the organization, by introducing a more agile work environment with more hotdesking solutions.
The look and feel of the space is modern, sophisticated, neat and simplistic, bringing in Ubank’s corporate identity to add pops of colour.
The second ﬂoor was required to be a combination of conﬁgurable meeting and board rooms. The intention is to create a business hub with a coffee bar as well as a co working environment. We were required to build the new workspace re-using as much current furniture and ﬁttings as possible. We also introduced some height adjustable desks to the open plan for better ergonomics in the workspace.
Trend successfully managed to achieve a 50% agile working ratio for Ubank and introduced a variety of different work settings to boost collaboration and flexible working.
